Fuel Cell Advancement Initiative
In 2004, Supervisor Jim Beall submitted the Santa Clara County Fuel Cell Advancement Initiative to the Board of Supervisors. His recommendations included directing the County Executive to consider stationary fuel cell applications when planning for building projects and energy system upgrades as well as identifying a fuel cell vehicle demonstration project. As part of the fuel cell initiative Jim referred a resolution for consideration by the Legislative Committee in October 2004. The adopted resolution committed Santa Clara County to participate in the Cities for Climate Protection Campaign. This campaign provides a framework for local government to develop an agenda to reduce global warming and air pollution emissions which would additionally improve quality of life in the community.
