Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara County, California, Relating to the Threatened Closure of Gasoline Stations
KESOLUTIOK OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORE OF
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RELATING
TO THE THREATENED CLOSURE OF GASOLINE STATIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has been informed that gasoline station
operators are planning to close in a protest of the United States Department of
Energy regulations on May 1T» l8, 19* sod 20, 19T9; ®nd
WHEREAS, the County of Santa Clara has declared a state of local emergency to
exist in this county because of the gasoline shortage at the retail level in this
county; and
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California has proclaimed an emergency
condition to exist in Santa Clara County and has adopted a mandatory odd/even gasoline
marketing plan.
HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Santa Clara that it requests the United States Department of Energy to evalxiate its
regulations relative to pricing by gasoline retail dealers and to develop a fair
end reasonable system of gasoline margin for such dealers and to make such regulations
clear, understandable, and enforceable.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors respectfully request a
response from the United States Department of Energy to this request before May 17, 1979
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara,
State of California, on May 7, 1979, l>y a unanimous vote.
