Beall to address Energy Crisis in State of the County Speech
SAN JOSE, California - County Supervisor Jim Beall will give his
assessment of the future Of Santa Clara County tonight in the annual
State of the County Address.
Beall will announce the creation of a Countywide Energy Task Force
aimed at finding more ways to conserve energy throughout the
county.
"As the rolling blackouts continue to haunt Silicon Valley on a daily
basis. It is imperative that we all work together to find new ways to
decrease our energy use," said Beall.
Beall's speech will also focus on the ongoing housing problems in
Siiicon Valley as well as efforts to implement the Children's Health
Initiative - the county's plan to provide access to health care for every
child through the age of 18.
The State of the County address is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm and
will be held in the Board of Supervisors' Chambers located at 70 West
Hedding Street in San Jose.
There will be plenty of free parking across the street, and the public is
encouraged to attend.
