Dear Chairperson Beall;

Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara is pleased to inform you that the County Public Health

Department's HIV/AIDS Testing and Counseling Initiative has been awarded $20,000 to
support establishing new HIV rapid testing sites in the community-based setting.

We applaud County's leadership to launch an aggressive HTV prevention initiative that
supports enhanced testing and counseling services for targeted at-risk populations. Kaiser

Permanente shares the County's vision that the countywide health awareness marketing and
establishment of community based rapid HTV testing sites will not only curb the rise in the

epidemic, but it will also significantly increase the vulnerable population's access to health
education/counseling and testing services.

Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara looks forward to our partnership in collectively empowering
our communities to own their health and to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Sincerely,

Mary Ann Barnes
