79,000 of the County’s API residents are on MediCal.
36,000 API residents are uninsured (26% of the
County’s 141,000 uninsured 19-64 year olds).
77,000 API residents live below 100% of FPL(36%
of the people living below 100% of FPL).
Another 72,000 API residents live at 100-200% of
FPL.
41,000 API residents live at 200-300% of FPL.
A major threat to Asian American women in Santa
Clara County is cervical cancer. Yet, 57 percent of
women below 300% FPL who have never had a pap
smear test are Asian American (16,000 of 28,000
women).
